An exceptional crystal
In the Baccarat workshops, each creation comes to life in the fire, the breath, and the momentum of a dream. The dream of Baccarat Rouge 540 Édition Millésime was made possible by artisans at the pinnacle of their art. Crystal is a demanding material, which allows itself to be tamed only by expert hands. To create the red crystal bottle and its "Empreinte" (Imprint), it was necessary to summon the quintessence of the manufactory's know-how. In total, five hundred hours of work and nineteen artisans, including four Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen of France) and two Chevaliers des Arts et des Lettres (Knights of Arts and Letters), united their talents to give birth to this exceptional work.
Within the Baccarat manufactory, each craft embodies an essential step in the metamorphosis of the material. From the "hot" workshops, where molten crystal is gathered at the end of the blower's rod, to the modeling that outlines its contours, the sure hand and keen eye shape the piece in a balance between strength and delicacy. The cutters then intervene, sculpting the material with millimeter precision to reveal its lines, angles, and brilliance. Then comes the alchemy of "Rouge à l'or" (Gold Red), the inspiration for the Baccarat Rouge 540 fragrance, born from the fusion of clear crystal and 24-carat gold powder brought to 540°C, which gives the piece its incandescent depth. This absolute mastery is the result of years of learning, gestures transmitted with rigor and passion, from generation to generation.
Closely associated with the artistic direction of Maison Francis Kurkdjian since its creation in 2009, Fred Rawyler imagined a counter-current bottle, a nomadic object designed for everyday luxury, refillable and innovative. Its vertical and assertive silhouette, with beveled walls, outlines in hollow the initial "K" of the creator. Made of red crystal, this bottle embodies the meeting between artisanal heritage and the rigor of assured modernity. Designed with a vaporizer, an unprecedented technical feat in the world of perfumery, it combines the elegance of the contemporary gesture with the nobility of crystal. It took two years of research and development to combine tightness, design, and functionality, without sacrificing beauty.
"L'Empreinte" (The Imprint), the crystal base, is composed of eight pure columns forming a perfect square. The lines, clean and structured, almost architectural, extend the geometric aesthetic of the Maison's bottles. Imagined as a precious setting, it evokes the birth of red crystal, making the bottle emerge in the center.
Born from the meeting between two French Maisons driven by creative audacity and a passion for excellence, Baccarat Rouge 540 Édition Millésime embodies more than ever the alchemy of the senses and pays homage to those who, each day, transform matter into light and know-how into emotion.
