In Morocco, many flowers essential to the perfume industry are cultivated and processed. Maison Francis Kurkdjian sources its natural essential oils from a producer fully committed to a sustainable development approach.

In recent years, long periods of drought have become increasingly frequent, accompanied by rising temperatures and drying winds, leading to an increase in crop mortality. These challenges threaten flower cultivation and the 1,200 jobs it generates in the Khemisset region of Morocco.

To preserve them, Maison Francis Kurkdjian partnered in 2023 with Reforest'action™ to develop a global regenerative agriculture project, supporting its historical producer and making the cultivation of perfume flowers more resilient to climate change. At the heart of this project are the development of agroforestry practices and the implementation of new irrigation solutions

These initiatives create shade and a wind barrier, improve soil health and fertility, create habitats for insects and pollinators, and enhance water retention. The impact of these initiatives will be measured over the years by Reforest'action™ and its local partners through soil health studies.
